What to do when your hair stands on end in the early morning, because you forgot to deactivate your Google Ads-Campaigns last night?
Quickly activating my Google Ads-Campaigns and letting them run until manually deactivating them at a scheduled time was - apparently - not a good idea after all.
Because of all the stress, I only noticed today that I forgot to switch them off last night - and that has now cost me about 2000€ - money thrown out of the window.
That should definitely not happen to me again!
But what is the best way to avoid that?
The solution to this is called ads scheduling! Yes, in every Google Ads account you will find a section called "Ad Scheduler" on the left-hand side of the main page. Just click on it and you can start defining exactly in which period you want your Google Ads-Campaigns to be delivered.
This means that you don't have to do anything and the campaigns are automatically switched off at the specified time.
Apart from the times and days of the week on which the ads are to be placed, you can of course also specify bid adjustments and in this way increase or decrease bids, for instance maximum amounts you want to spend on the respective ads, for certain days and times.
So if you notice that your potential customers are most active on Saturdays between 9am and 2pm, for example, you could use the ad scheduler to adjust the delivery of your ads so that your ads are only delivered during this time on Saturdays.
This is definitely a feature that should be taken into account when placing advertisements. Because, as the saying goes, life plans those, who don't plan.
